Film: Save These Fields

Join us at Ice Shack, Withington, this Thursday for a film screening of Save These Fields, a documentary about the decades long campaign to save Ryebank Fields, a rewilded community nature space in South Manchester. Formerly owned by Manchester City Council, the land is now the property of Manchester Metropolitan University, who plan to sell it to property developers to build private housing. The film is an exploration of the ensuing political issues around attacks on local democracy, struggles over the city and the privatisation of public land, which are being repeated across the UK.
